Idaho Wilderness Outfitters offers bow hunting and rifle hunting for trophy Rocky Mountain Elk, Mule Deer, Black Bear, Cougar and Wolf in central Idaho's famed big game units 39, 43, 44, 48 and 49. As Idaho's largest land-based outfit, IWO's hunters enjoy near 100% shot opportunity every single year.
The annual general archery season runs from August 30th through September 30th with our controlled archery and rifle hunts beginning in mid-August and extending through November each year. All hunts are fully outfitted and can be secured with a 50% non-refundable deposit. Multi-day hunt packages include arrival day and departure day plus hunting days. For instance, in the case of a 7 day hunt package, you will arrive on Day 1, hunt days 2 through 6 and depart on Day 7 for a total of 5 days of hunting afield. Hunting on arrival or departure day is NOT included in your hunt package price. Our hunt packages include transportation after arrival in Sun Valley, guiding, outfitter camps, all meals and beverages once in camp, horse transport and packing, field care of trophy, delivery of trophy to taxidermist and butcher and delivery of meat to shipping agency. Not included in our fully outfitted packages are tag and license fees, taxidermy, butchering or shipping fees and guide/wrangler/Camp Boss gratuities. Emergency medical evacuation coverage is recommended and can be secured at this link.
Due to the high demand for IWO hunting services, it is recommended to secure your booking at least one year in advance of your desired hunt dates.
2024 Hunt Prices
All over-the-counter (OTC) general season hunts listed below will be discounted $500 per hunter if hunter provides tag. Non-resident deer and elk tags are available online at 10am Mountain Time on December 1st for the following calendar year at this link. Tags sell out in a matter of hours and ALL IWO hunters are advised to attempt to purchase their tags at this time as IWO cannot guarantee tag availability afterwards. Outfitter allocated tags are available on a first come/first served basis based on the date of hunt booking confirmation which requires signed paperwork and paid deposit invoice. Outfitter tag access does not include the cost of the tag. Hunters are responsible for purchasing hunting licenses, archery/muzzleloader permits and the cost of all tags
Archery Hunts

7-day archery elk-only hunt
2 hunters/1 guide: $6,950 per guest
1 hunter/1 guide: $9,950 per guest
If hunter provides the elk tag, a $500 credit will be applied to the hunt cost.
7-day archery mule deer OR archery elk hunt in Unit 44
1 hunter/1 guide: $9,450 per guest (hunter must draw tag in controlled hunt drawing)
Multi-species hunt option: General season non-resident outfitter allocated mule deer tags or resident over-the-counter mule deer tags may be added to any elk hunt in units 43, 48 and 49 depending on availability. Non-resident mule deer tags may also be used to harvest black bear, cougar or wolf!
